Welcome to Gildenhirst, friends! It's a TEST DRIVE MEME!!
Premise, Location and more information on the Main Menu.
Our test drive meme is open to everyone, so please stop by for a little fun and see if you’d enjoy playing with us. The TDM primarily takes place in Gildenhirst, the main hub city for Bravely Borrows. The surrounding area of Caldisla is free game though! Please explore the setting as you desire.
LET'S PLAY DRESS UP
A big part of Bravely Borrows is getting your very own job class! While all characters start the game as a Freelancer and receive a random job asterisk later on, for the sake of testing you may choose from the following job classes to mess around with:
Red Mage ★ Monk ★ Knight ★ Performer ★ Ranger ★ and Freelancer of course If you desire these threads to be canon, an asterisk was simply loaned to them. Please return it at your earliest convenience.
NEED A QUEST?
If you need some direction on how to begin, why not gaze upon some sample quests? Go on a journey. Fuck around and find out. They are completely optional– write whatever prompts you want!
Eggs Aplenty
Oh no. Oh dear. There has been a horrible series of mistakes surrounding ChantiLilly’s egg delivery. For one thing, it was delivered to the Central Market on the Ground Floor! For another thing, there are far too many eggs here. Dozens upon dozens upon dozens of eggs. The bakery’s Patissiere would be grateful if you could help bring these eggs up to his bakery in Rooftop Gardens. You’ll get some gold and some fresh eggs for your troubles.
This Bunny’s Buggin Me
A farmer from Norende is going batty over the swarm of bunnies that have been getting into his fields. Help a fella out, won’t ya? They are swarming en masse and ruining the spring start ups! Don’t expect to be able to herd them out without a fight though– these rabbies really pack a punch! They’re also carnivorous so…. Watch out?
A Rock and a Hard Place
An avid collector is searching for some new specimens. They’ve heard there are some expansive cave systems in the Norende Heights that just might be the perfect spot to collect some geodes. The only problem is that they’re an eensy teensy bit full of kobolds. You’ll be compensated for your troubles if you’d go collect some rocks, and every actual geode will get an extra reward. Please don’t fall off the cliffs…! The paths are narrow and harrowing at times. Good luck!
Have an excellent time, friends!
Thanks for stopping by ♥
[Having dealt with countless silent adversaries in their time, they were able to tell they were being followed. The crates in the alley gave a bit of temporary cover till they were able to assess if it was actually wise enough to come out. Thankfully, the voice did not sound like a threatening one.]
[Two little hands (stubs?) reached over the top of the crate to hoist themselves up, but kind of just enough to be within peeking range. There was still some wariness. If they had to fight they were more than capable of it, but it wasn't something they were willing to start on their own.]
[ The motion caught her eye before Kel got a clear view of the thing, but she resisted the urge to turn too quickly towards it. Nice, slow movements would bring her a few steps closer to the crate, and then down into enough of a squat to get them almost eye-level. If... if there were actually eyes in that head. Huh.
Well, she still might not know what exactly what this little creature was, but her usual scared-wild-animal tactics would do for the moment. She rested her hands on her thighs--see how empty and relaxed they were! No one's gonna swipe at you right now buddy. The only weapon she had on her right now was her belt knife, tucked away in its sheath. ]
There you are. Quick little thing, aren't you? [ Could it understand her? In Kel's experience that was kind of a tossup, but a friendly voice was rarely the wrong choice. ] I was afraid you'd get crushed in all the mess back there. Are you hurt?
[It understands!! ...But it can't reply back so there was just a head shake. It's the best they can do.]
[But hey! At least they aren't running away either, and that knife isn't really a concern to them either. They seem pretty calm at the moment, but this world was pretty weird and confusing so there was still plenty of things to stay alert about.]
[ A head shake! So, understanding: very probable. Could it speak too, then? Eyes wide with interest, Kel leaned forward a bit, leaning on her thighs. ]
No? Thank goodness for that, then. But I don't expect you can hide in that crate forever. What did you come to market for in the first place?
[ Could. Could it be here to shop? Could it?? Was that too silly a thought? It wasn't like Kel would think badly of an animal for trying to steal, but she didn't exactly know what she was dealing with here. ]
[They placed a hand over where their mouth might've been and pondered for a moment about that question. They weren't particularly up to anything. It was just... exploring? Yeah, exploring.]
[...Especially when they aren't even sure how they got here to begin with. A door just opened up and they walked through. Kind of like... Oh, actually!]
[They spotted a backdoor in the alley and pointed at it. It wasn't the same one they came through, it probably hasn't seen much use in a long time. In fact it may even be somewhat boarded up. But it might be the bestest example at the moment for whatever they're trying to convey.]
[ Well, then. No speech, but this felt like communication for sure, and Kel had conducted full conversations with creatures she was way less certain could understand her than this, so. Let's go with it!
Fascinated, she attentively followed all these gestures, and then paused a moment, thinking. ]
You... need to get in there? [ There was another pause as Kel silently weighed how willing she was to break and enter into a maybe-abandoned-maybe-not building for a mysterious giant bug she just met. Answer: not super duper willing, but it's not completely off the table. ] Is that it?
[ Tempted as she was to ask more, it seemed kindest to pause on a yes or no question here. ]
