Eggs Aplenty
Oh no. Oh dear. There has been a horrible series of mistakes surrounding ChantiLilly’s egg delivery. For one thing, it was delivered to the Central Market on the Ground Floor! For another thing, there are far too many eggs here. Dozens upon dozens upon dozens of eggs. The bakery’s Patissiere would be grateful if you could help bring these eggs up to his bakery in Rooftop Gardens. You’ll get some gold and some fresh eggs for your troubles.
This Bunny’s Buggin Me
A farmer from Norende is going batty over the swarm of bunnies that have been getting into his fields. Help a fella out, won’t ya? They are swarming en masse and ruining the spring start ups! Don’t expect to be able to herd them out without a fight though– these rabbies really pack a punch! They’re also carnivorous so…. Watch out?
A Rock and a Hard Place
An avid collector is searching for some new specimens. They’ve heard there are some expansive cave systems in the Norende Heights that just might be the perfect spot to collect some geodes. The only problem is that they’re an eensy teensy bit full of kobolds. You’ll be compensated for your troubles if you’d go collect some rocks, and every actual geode will get an extra reward. Please don’t fall off the cliffs…! The paths are narrow and harrowing at times. Good luck!

Welcome! When she'd set out for a trip, Alpha was expecting some degree of familiarity in her destination, rather than the mountain pass leading down to the bright, autumnal golds of the forest below it. This. This is extremely unexpected. Uh... huh.
She's welcome to this change of plans, at any rate, and after getting the directions to the town, she... loiters around in the forest for a while, actually! It's lovely! It's not like anything in her world, at least nothing that she's had the pleasure of seeing, so she wants to soak in the sight for a while. While she wanders, she holds a camera up, though she seems to second-guess any shots, simply looking through the lens for a moment before pulling the camera back down. Hm hm hmm.... Oh! Another wanderer! Upon seeing a possible companion, she'll smile and try to wave them down. "It's stunning out here, isn't it?"
An Eggcellent Time Oh no, what a daunting task this delivery is! So many eggs, and so many stairs! One could get exhausted pretty fast trying to haul a bunch of stuff up there, unless one were to be a little hardier than the average human. Alpha won't load herself up too much, maybe just a pallet at a time since she wouldn't want to risk anything happening to this precious cargo, but she does look particularly pleased to be helping out. Just like a courier! Imagine if Kokone could see her!
"I wonder what kinds of treats they're going to make with all of these eggs...!" Maybe all kinds of interesting sweets and pastries she's never seen!
Not that the town was going to be devoid of people. There was just something extra nice about running into someone new under such lovely scenery. Blue easily waved back to her fellow adventurer, picking up her pace a bit to close the distance between them.
"Hello!" She turned around a bit to stretch her arms out behind her, looking up at the golden branches above them. "It's such a pretty shade of gold." Stunning indeed.
A friendly person! Alpha's smile brightens as Blue approaches, before turning her attention back up toward the leaves once more, a little half-twirl accompanying the motion.
"I don't think I've ever seen so many trees all the same shade of gold like this," even wandering through forests in the mild autumn weather she's used to, there's always a lot of variance in the tones. Lots of reds and oranges and browns to go with the brilliant yellow. "It feels like the kind of place that's worth a trip just to see."
Blue nodded fervently as she finally settled her gaze on the other girl. "Definitely! This would get its own destination brochure for sure." Surely it was a hot destination to visit. It didn't seem like it was fall weather, so this was kind of wild, right???
"I would have definitely wanted to make a trip for it, so getting it handed to me is a cool bonus."
Alola? Where is that? How mysterious, but she'll give Blue her answer before more questions are thrown around.
"I was!" She says, a laugh both sheepish and faintly relieved on its heels. It's nice to now she's not the only one who seems to have gotten extra lost here! "Nowhere in particular, but this was a pretty drastic change of scenery."
That is just how adventures go sometimes, it's true! Alpha's not complaining by any means, though the assurance that this isn't purely her having a confusing time of this is welcome.
"Blue," she echoes, planting the name nice and firmly in her mind as she offers her hand in return for a shake, "That's a nice name!" A lovely color, like the ocean or boundless skies. Very nice indeed. "I'm Alpha, it's a pleasure."
"Alpha," Blue repeated in turn, giving a firm nod. "That's a nice name too!" Very pokesona. Blue felt right at home, giving her hand an enthusiastic shake. This was very good, making new friends in new places was the best.
"Were you headed anywhere in particular just now?"
"Right now... I was sort of on my way to the town." Sort of. Generally headed that way, regardless. "It doesn't feel like there's much of a rush, though."
Blue nodded. "It's been pretty relaxing so far." For the most part anyway. "They do say to be careful out on the road though, so I can walk with you if you'd like! I'm not in a rush to get anywhere either."
Better to walk along with a friend than get surprised by less-than-friends on the way.
"Ohh, that would be nice!" It will be worth it to be careful, she's sure, not that the path has seemed particularly dangerous so far, but the biggest benefit here comes from the company.
"Maybe you could tell me about the place you were headed to on the way!"
"Enough egg tarts for a full battalion?" That came from just a few steps behind, tone dry in a gentle kind of way. Kel had filed in line just after this young woman, similarly loaded down with eggs.
"A whole battalion..." Alpha echoes thoughtfully - definitely not the kind of use she'd think of for this cargo, but... perhaps. Perhaps. "Do you think a bakery would be feeding an army with cakes and sweets?"
"Not that I've heard of." She'd only been joking, but, "It would depend how deep the army's pockets were, I suppose. Not that I've seen any soldiers around here yet."
Armies and soldiers are sort of a bygone thing in Alpha'a world, so she can only really speculate, but even she can make some light-hearted banter over silly hypotheticals.
"Maybe they're busy enjoying bread and tarts," maybe they'll make it to the bakery and it will be packed full of soldiers! Probably not, though. "It seems peaceful enough here, they've probably earned a nice break."
Cute--the joke got a smile. "It is that." Peaceful, she meant. "Any place where the big problem of the day is too many eggs probably hasn't seen a battalion in a long time, whether it has enough tarts for them or not."
As fun as it is to speculate on the silly idea of the town being peaceful enough to simply pamper their forces with delicious treats, there's a more reasonable answer right there. "I suppose all those egg tarts will have to go to regular civilians, then." Are they definitely going to be tarts? Who can say. "Maybe they'll offer up a few for the couriers."
"There are worse things to be paid in than tarts." Kel grinned a little. "Though I think I'd have a hard time passing them off as coin at the inn, it might be worth it. I haven't had proper sweets in an age."
"Ahh, true." She'd meant that they might be a tip on top of their pay, but would payment in sweets really be the worst thing? No, probably not. Definitely not. "If they've got more things I've never tried, I might have to splurge a little even if it means extra trips up here for rent."
"And you'll get a powerful pair of legs thrown in free of charge." There was another little grin--it was nice to just chat about frivolous things after so long. "Are there any sweets you've set particular hopes on?"
But, "Hmm...!" Are there any sweets she'd want in particular? She hums a little as she thinks, but nothing specific really comes to mind. "Maybe if they've got some sort of specialty sweets, I'd want to try those first." That's something to get your hopes up for!
"I would like to try the local specialty sooner or later, whatever it is," Kel agrees. Wasn't that always a highlight of traveling somewhere new? "Or fruit tarts, maybe, with whatever's in season right now. I haven't spent much time in the market yet, but with all the bustle around here, I don't think we have to worry about eggs being the only bounty."
"Ohh, trying out local fruits sounds like a great idea, too!" In a tart or otherwise - it doesn't feel too terribly different climate-wise from what she's used to at the moment, but even then there's certain to be plenty of crops and fruits that she's never encountered before here! "Ah, there are a bunch of places around town I should check out still... Maybe after all this egg business is taken care of, first."
Gotta keep the priorities in order, after all! Not like time here feels particularly limited, either.
