LET'S PLAY DRESS UP
A big part of Bravely Borrows is getting your very own job class! While all characters start the game as a Freelancer and receive a random job asterisk later on, for the sake of testing you may choose from the following job classes to mess around with:
Red Mage ★ Monk ★ Knight ★ Performer ★ Ranger ★ and Freelancer of course If you desire these threads to be canon, an asterisk was simply loaned to them. Please return it at your earliest convenience.
NEED A QUEST?
If you need some direction on how to begin, why not gaze upon some sample quests? Go on a journey. Fuck around and find out. They are completely optional– write whatever prompts you want!
Eggs Aplenty
Oh no. Oh dear. There has been a horrible series of mistakes surrounding ChantiLilly’s egg delivery. For one thing, it was delivered to the Central Market on the Ground Floor! For another thing, there are far too many eggs here. Dozens upon dozens upon dozens of eggs. The bakery’s Patissiere would be grateful if you could help bring these eggs up to his bakery in Rooftop Gardens. You’ll get some gold and some fresh eggs for your troubles.
This Bunny’s Buggin Me
A farmer from Norende is going batty over the swarm of bunnies that have been getting into his fields. Help a fella out, won’t ya? They are swarming en masse and ruining the spring start ups! Don’t expect to be able to herd them out without a fight though– these rabbies really pack a punch! They’re also carnivorous so…. Watch out?
A Rock and a Hard Place
An avid collector is searching for some new specimens. They’ve heard there are some expansive cave systems in the Norende Heights that just might be the perfect spot to collect some geodes. The only problem is that they’re an eensy teensy bit full of kobolds. You’ll be compensated for your troubles if you’d go collect some rocks, and every actual geode will get an extra reward. Please don’t fall off the cliffs…! The paths are narrow and harrowing at times. Good luck!
Have an excellent time, friends!
Thanks for stopping by ♥
[Around and About] It was hard to say what she could have expected when Blue arrived. The prospect of somewhere new to travel had just been too tantalizing to pass up, and all of this was certainly very new. She hardly knew where to start!
Find her crouched under some of the golden trees, furiously scribbling away in her journal (how perfect that they just gave her a new one! for free!!). Or, find her fluttering between market stalls in town with just as much fervor. Get a load of all these weapons!
"That fish is huge!!"
[Eggs A Plenty] Time to start making that cash money. The old fashioned way seemed like it was a bit out of the question. Menial labor was the way today!
So here she was next to all these eggs (so many), dutifully handing pallets to the Charizard at her side. A handful of passerby were gawking as they went, though whether it was because of the small dragon or because the girl kept shoving eggs into the dragon's arms was hard to say.
"How many more do you think we could carry?"
Blue did you even know where you were going. Have you even considered the stairs. Blue. Blue please.
ok just pretend blue is aged up SuMo vacation red+green style or something...
Says what looks like a black and white goth walking stick who would probably be blown away on a gentle breeze if he weren't weighed down by the modest handful of eggs he was overburdened with. At least his Obstagoon had the fortitude to carry more - though from the look in his eyes, he was definitely considering eating his share for the transport fee.
no need to pretend when that is Just Correct wink wonk
Blue was just about to assure whomstever this might have been that hey, no worries. This power team had got this under control. Do not even sweat.
It was just that Obstagoon hit her peripheral vision first and she swung around with much more fervor than this encounter called for, flinging her hand back to gently whack against her Charizard. Were you seeing this!? (Yes. They had already seen this. They were sure the Obstagoon had the right idea here.)
"Ohhh~! I've only seen pictures before... You're incredible! I can't believe we got to meet one of you so soon-- Oh and you match!" Finally Piers was getting some recognition here as Blue beamed at both of them. "What a great team!"
The dragon looked over her head with a low rumble. She'll be done in a minute.
His posture was already bad but now it's worse as he balks some more. Also is he going to have to stand here for much longer because his arms are already tired from holding like, the bare minimum of eggs.
Why are Charizard trainers always like this.
"Um... thanks..... We've been together a long time. My hair's naturally this colour though..." (Don't ask how. Just, does not want the assumption that he's dying his hair to be matchies like some kind of Pokefreak.)
So did you choose a Zigzagoon for aesthetics then or what.
"Well that's awful fortuitous," Blue remarked, but she left it at that. There were more pressing thoughts on the rise. "Did we somehow make it all the way to Galar instead... No, right?"
Surely a town like this one would have had far more pokemon just hanging out in the streets if that were the case.
NO IT WAS A COINCIDENCE I FOUND A RACOON IN THE TRASH
"Ye'd be forgiven for thinkin' this place might be Ballonlea, but the colour's right off." In terms of fairytale-looking town nestled amongst the trees though, it checks out. But the number of glowing Fairy Types is zero. "If this was Galar, I'd know."
Blue sighed deeply (for dramatics). "That's what I thought..." She was quick to perk back up though, the grin right back on her face as she shined it at the two of them. "But I also had the feeling you were from Galar! I haven't been there yet, but I hope to get there at some point."
She would have stuck her hand out to shake both of their hands (claws) but ah. Eggs. Yes. They all had eggs. "We should walk together!"
Had a feeling-- said as if he wasn't the most painfully Galar thing in the room. "Well it's the accent, innit..."
He sighs in return, but without the perking himself up after. It was a sigh of I guess I have to interact with people now. He couldn't even avoid it. It'd just be more awkward to not say anything, what with the both of them working on the same task.
Quiet friends were excellent friends too, Piers. Blue would not have been offended if he'd just wanted to quietly hike some eggs up. He hadn't objected though, so now he was just Doomed.
"Ha, that's true!" She whirled back around to confirm that Sienna was good to go with her eggs (yes), chattering along, "It is a pretty distinct accent, but it was your friend more than anything!" Here was a wink for you~ Obstagoon~
"I've met a few Linoones, but I haven't gotten to meet an Obstagoon yet."
"Ah... I've heard they're less rowdy outside've Galar." He glances over at Obstagoon, as if trying to imagine his partner of so many years being anything less than the loud, needy badger he was. In response, very much going aw you love me like this :p, the big furry lets out a cheerful ROAR, before licking his face.
Piers's expression softens, from the grim chagrin of having to do heavy(?) labour with an overly chatty stranger, to fondness. "Just don't seem to fit'im right, though."
Blue giggled a little as the Obstagoon ROARed. There was a snuffle behind her as Sienna reached her long neck over to plop her head on Blue's shoulder, because she could be Big Affectionate too. So there. Blue tilt her head over, pleased with the whole scenario.
"Mmm, I would agree. Being a bit scruffy just fits!" Scruffy dark types were just very good.
Well dragons are... Normal, right (WRONG...??). So clearly everyone was gawking because the dragon's just so good at carrying stuff. Some helpful adventurers had lead him to the quest board instead of allowing him to keep asking where the nearest League gym is or where to find a Pokemon Center, so there he was at... Many eggs. A lot of omelettes.
Blue was a welcome sight in this unfamiliar place where people just stared at him blankly when he was making great efforts to talk about normal things, like 'Excuse me, where can I charge my Pokedex?' So in the moment Red ignored how strange it was to come across someone he knew and silently began hoisting some pallets off the ground. Hmm... If Charizard can carry a lot, and HE can carry a lot, then that's got to be like... double eggs.
"However many this is?" Red gestured with the pallets in his arms, "I can help. They go upstairs, right?"
He, too, will not be considering how many stairs he will soon be climbing.
Two things were tugging at Blue's attention at the same time. The first was that Someone was grabbing some of the eggs next to her, and really she ought to turn to them and say hello! That was very important. However, her Charizard caught her attention first because that ~starter connection~ was sparking.
Also it was hard to miss that fact that Sienna's eyes had suddenly gotten very big and she was super obviously gaping at... someone? The person that had come to help? What were we flabbergasted by, girl?
So Blue turned her head and promptly dropped every single egg she was holding as Red spoke.
It would certainly be safe to say that he might have been following Sienna's tail a little before he caught sight of Blue. Because in this entirely new region where he has not seen a Pokemon that looks even vaguely familiar how was there a Charizard hanging around, that made no sense--
WAIT. THE EGGS
"Huh?" Red turned in a full circle like he was trying to find what both the girls were staring at. Oh, was his Pikachu back from scoping out the bakery that was supposed to be getting the eggs... (Red's Pikachu has decided he's on his own quest, and that quest is "look adorable and beg for free pastries.") Like all those eggs that Blue just dropp- OH NO THEY WERE STARING AT HIM
"Oh. I didn't think I'd see anyone I knew here so I forgot to say hi." Suddenly he looked like he was lost, but really he was just thinking about if he should set down his eggs or drop them too. "...Hi."
Red had approximately two seconds to decide his own plan. The eggs would have been a lot safer if he had set them aside, but. Well. Oops. Blue was already flinging herself straight at him at top speeds. Was it a tackle? A h..ug...? Maybe both!
DOWN THEY GO. SORRY, EGGS,
"You jerk!" There was a rumble from Sienna as she nodded along beside them. Yeah, you jerk! How dare you... be... here???? Wait what was the problem.
Two seconds was... Absolutely not enough time. He saw Blue flying towards him, and so he tossed about five pallets of eggs aside to hold his arms out for... Was this going to be a hug or was he about to die. Was it both? Was he catching her? Well he was bracing for death.
"Me?" JERK? HIM!? NOT SIENNA TOO?? "What'd I do!?" Red looked genuinely shocked, since he hadn't even been in town long enough to-- Oh, right, the dozens of future baked goods he just ruined by throwing a ton of eggs on the ground.
"You don't pick up the phone!" Blue exclaimed, her voice going a touch higher over the audacity that this could have been about the eggs. "And you never call me back! It takes traveling to a whole different--" ...Town? Country? ??World?? "--place for you to even say hi! You're a jerk!!"
Well! As far as he was aware, it was the only thing he'd done wrong since he showed up!!
He stayed quiet for a moment to try and process what he was hearing... Blue. Blue please you must have known he still had a first generation Pokegear and he lived on top of a snowy mountain. Even when he remembered to call (rare, to be fair) he never had a signal. He didn't know how to make the texts go.
Instead of saying anything he just tried to bring her in for a hug. "I..." SHOULD BUY A NEW PHONE?? "Would have said hi if we weren't somewhere else."
She knew! She knew. She also knew her Pokegear didn't help matters any, but she tried! You had to go get supplies at some point young man! But none of that was even the real point.
It was at least really easy to pull her into the hug, her protests going softer as they got muffled by his shirt. "You barely said hi this time," was the current complaint, even as she wrapped her arms around him.
See this was why they should just go back to using carrier Pidgeys again. They didn't have to go through... Tubes or... Internet pipes or whatever... Uh...
"Sorry." Yes, in all his completely untelegraphed shock at seeing someone he knew, Red had totally forgotten how long it had been since he'd talked to Blue. So now he understood why he was being called a jerk, at least. He could reflect on that later, right now he had someone VERY IMPORTANT TO SPEAK TO
"I missed you too." He did, in fact, have about a million questions he wanted to ask, but he stood in silence for a bit just so he could give this moment some space. "Have you been here for very long? 'Cause I just got here."
In stark contrast to his steady baseline, Blue was very obviously running through the entire gauntlet of emotions in rapid succession. The apology made her shoulders hitch with a shuddering breath, fingers curling tight in his shirt. When she pulled back to look at him he was telling her he missed her, so he got to see the whole shift from tense sadness to something bittersweet to the flustered in between she was settling on. Blinking back a few tears, Blue gave a quick shake of her head.
"No, not long. Just a few days." Sniffle. She was almost done, promise. "Were you on your way somewhere too?"
Red's face remained pretty still while Blue was going through many emotions very quickly. He couldn't really stop himself from frowning because in some way this was absolutely his fault, but he still pulled the brim of his hat down a little to try hiding it while Blue was trying to calm down.
"Yeah." Does he have... A tissue... He was checking his pockets. "It's kind of funny. I was going back home. What about you?"

Was he used to Obstagoon being a rare sight outside of Galar? No honestly he's never travelled outside of Galar.
The two black and white boys exchange a look before the KISS badger lets his tongue loll out his mouth in a look of confusion. "Wruuf?"
